Cheb Hasni, murdered in Oran, the “capitol” of Rai music.
The announcement of the death of Hasni Thursday, September 29, 1994 slammed a volley into the air of the city of Oran and throughout Algeria. Hasni was killed at noon, near his home. He came from the studio (Boussiouf) and had just picked up Houari, his brother. This evening he was really happy with the record he had made and was very pleased to have placed a new tooth and also that he was about to leave for France. The ticket was for the date of 28-09-94, but fate wanted otherwise.
Things followed as normally as possible, Houari left front of their house after Hasni came as usual with his car that he parked and asked his brother to join him.
Houari his brother joined him at all happy when someone appeared behind them. He believed it was one of the fans, so he turned to him with a big smile when he received two cursed bullets. One in the neck and the other in the head, which unfortunately soon caused his death by falling into the arms of Houari. Shocked by the whole situation he did not believe his eyes, ‘close to home’. At the hospital of Oran where the victim was transported urgently, they had never before seen a crowd as large. Hundreds of people came to hear from him. And they wanted to see the face of their beloved and famous singer who had always shown his joy and sympathy for the people he knew and respected so greatly.
Fear and anxiety appeared on the faces of the friends of the Cheb Hasni. Family and loved ones could not imprison their tears and their reactions when the doctors took him out with a white sheet, covered with blood. Unfortunately, it is not pretty to describe this tragedy.
Hasni was born in 1968 CHAKROUN adored by young Algerians on both sides of the Mediterranean, grew up in the popular district in Oran “Gambetta”.
At birth, his parents were very happy and no one knew that this little baby would become a star of the Algerian song (the RAI Music).
He lived a quiet childhood, very shy. Though, something in his heart left him different from other children, his sweetness, sincerity and kindness to people.
At the age of 6 years, CHAKROUN Hasni entered the primary school, where he loved to play in the schoolyard with his classmates.
Anyone who had seen Hasni, noted his shyness, but that does not stop him moving to the middle school “Bachir Kabassi”. His mother wished him great success in his studies because she still hoped that he would have a great future and asked the good Lord that he would become a great doctor, engineer, or maybe a pilot!
His teacher who observed more regular absences, warned several times and when his parents were made aware, they sought a way to do reverse his decision to leave school, but in vain, Hasni has already decided that his career will artistic.
With a melodious and sensitive voice, he discovered in the choir of EMC Kabati Bachir he liked at the time humming the songs from Blaoui El Houari, Ahmed Wahbi, then theorchestra where he played Naoui Kada Ya del marsem, a local song Oran. In 1986, the nightingale of Rai recorded his first cassette in which he performed a song as a duet with “the diva of Rai Chaba Zahouania”.
Hasni has created a style with his unique, and did not hesitate to include music from other Arab singers such as bright:

Hasni saw his wife when he was 20, she was much fascinated by her beauty, intelligence, and soon decided to propose to marry her.

He was the youngest of his brothers and their father, a welder by function, could hardly satisfy the needs of his family.
